...August..flew by!

Well.. here I am again.. over a month since my last post trying to make an update on our busy lives. So here goes...
Been super busy still shooting mostly weddings, but also portraits & families.
Went to girls camp (as a leader now...) & had a blast! We camped in Star valley & got to go river rafting down the snake river, SO COOL! We also had some very spiritual experiences and had to exercise our faith when we got 2 out of 4 cars stuck in very deep mud!
Roxi had her puppies! Last night in fact! After about 5 hours of labor, she had 2 girls and 2 boys! All are healthy & cute as can be!
Here is the first boy and girl
Roxi cuddling with her first two! She is such a good mama!
Lily (Roxi's daughter, who is my Mom's dog) had her puppies too! She was actually due after Roxi but ended up having hers about 15 hours before Roxi, so all the puppies have the same birthday! The picture above is Lily's tiny tiny baby girl.. isn't she precious?
Lily is such a good mommy too! She had 2 girls and 2 boys as well!
I got glasses! Ok.. so I don't have to wear them unless I'm working on my computer or doing tedious upclose work.. but they have been helping with my headaches! Phew!

Other things that happened in August:
  • Nephew Porter got blessed
  • Mom turned 50
  • Family fun @ the bee's game
  • Shopping with my sisters at the gateway
  • I got to take Tim, Megan & Emerie's family photos
  • I was SUPPOSED to have my first slowpitch softball game last night (but Roxi went into labor an hour before my game)
Things to look forward to in September:
  • More softball
  • Seeing a couple of my friends I haven't seen in months
  • Going to Lagoon for the first time in FOREVER
  • Shooting my first wedding in Park City
  • Participating in the Buddy Walk with Porter and our family
  • Counting down the days til our cruise! 37 days until Florida, 40 days until the cruise!
  • Watching Roxi's puppies grow & change
Until next time... PEACE OUT!

...July Fun!...

Tyler and I have had a busy fun month! We wish we would have taken pictures on every event, but we are slackers in that department. Hard to picture I know.. me being a photographer and all.. :] Anyway, this is what we've been up to this month! (in no particular order...)

Enjoyed my first time riding a ski lift.. we did the Alpine Slide up at Park City Mtn Resort...
The view from the ski lift...
Saw the biggest dogs ever at a dog&cat boutique in Park City... they are called newfoundlands & this picture does not do it justice at all. They were 280 lbs & the size of a small horse. We snuck this picture because the owner charges $5 for a picture!
Enjoyed spending time with our family to celebrate Aaron & Tim's birthdays...
Laughed hard watching them stuff a whole cupcake in their mouth...

Loved sitting out on the porch enjoying the weather with all the family...

Enjoyed watching Emerie try new things.. sipping from her daddy's cup while trying to figure out what I was doing out of he corner of her eye!

Tyler & I got charactures drawn of us at Park City Mtn Resort.. they don't look a thing like us.. agree??
Tyler and I celebrated our 1st year anniversary.
Here we are eating a slice of our year old wedding cake :]
Toby got a scary haircut... my dad loves it.
I got to watch my husband win his annual work basketball tournament held at the huntsman center!
I enjoyed the American Idol concert with my Mom, Aunt & cousin!
I have seen quite a bit of this little munchkin... I got to babysit her while her mommy went to physical therapy.
Other things we enjoyed this month:
  • seeing my best friend Laura & her baby Emma. We had not seen each other since November, they have been living in CA & they just barely moved to TX!
  • spending a weekend in East Canyon with Tyler's extended family. We went swimming, and four wheeling, made smores around a campfire, and enjoyed each other's company.
  • enjoyed having some time off from shooting weddings every week, even though I am still not caught up on editing.
  • loved going to the Oquirrh Mtn Temple open house with the Gapinski's! Even though Carson was really smelly :]
  • had a blast on the 4th of July going to the parade, having a BBQ & watching fireworks with the ones we love.
  • spending lots of nights watching Micah play (& my dad coach) baseball on his allstar team. They made it to the championship in the state tournament.
Things to look forward to in the next few weeks:
  • my Mom's birthday
  • Porter's baby blessing
  • a weekend in Idaho watching Dev play softball
  • a whole week at girls camp & coming straight home to shoot a wedding (not looking forward to being without Tyler though)
  • Roxi having puppies (cross your fingers.. yes we are 99% sure she is pregnant!)
  • Finishing my studio.. wood flooring goes in tomorrow!

Our "family" photos 2009!

Tyler and I got some "family" photos done earlier this week by my great friend and mentor Dustin Izatt of Dustin Izatt Photography. Since we don't have kids yet (besides my yorkies of course) we decided to do an engagement style shoot. It was so much fun to hang out with Dustin & he did such an amazing job! We absolutely love them, even more than our REAL engagements we had done last year when we got married. You can see them larger & even more HERE

THANKS DUSTIN!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!

Father's Day

Father's Day weekend was great! Saturday we had our whole family together, it was a special treat to have Porter over for the first time! We all got to see Porter roll over from his tummy to his back! He is not even a month old yet!

Here is a picture of him and his cute mommy while we were all hanging out.

Emerie watching Porter, they are the first 2 grandbabies! My mom made homemade pizza for us to enjoy & it was just so great to see everybody and be together.

Sunday, we decided to go on a picnic to celebrate Father's day. We were wanting to go up in the mountains but it started to be really rainy and windy unfortunately so we just went to Nichols park near our house. It was still really fun & we enjoyed the intense hail storm as we were driving! It is always great to be with family, and I am very grateful that I have family so close.

I am also so grateful for my daddy. It was especially bittersweet this year to be grateful to have my dad here with us because of the scare he gave us all a month or so ago. We love him so much & we are so thankful for all he has taught us and will continue to teach us!

Porter Ray has arrived!!

We are so excited about the new arrival of my brother Aaron & sis-in-law Meghann's baby boy! His name is Porter Ray, and he came yesterday May 31st @ 1:59 PM. Meghann had to receive a C-section because the umbilical cord was too short! He weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. & is 19 inches long. He is a tiny bundle of joy & we already love and adore him SO much! He is such a blessing in all of our lives & we are so excited that he is finally here!

Aaron & Meghann, we love you guys so much & we are so excited about this new little guy. We already have so much love for him & it will only grow. He is a choice spirit of our Heavenly Father & he couldn't have been born to better parents. What a tremendous blessing he is in all of our lives! We can't wait to see what life holds for your cute family, CONGRATULATIONS!!

This picture was taken when my little brother Micah was holding him just a couple hours after he was born!
Here's Tyler holding Porter earlier today!
He's opened his eyes a few times when I've been there visiting, he is so sweet.
Oh and he has red hair! I'm so happy :] Meghann has gorgeous red hair so I'm hoping Porter will keep his red hair to be like his Mommy!
