Love + Roses = Tyler!

This past Monday was the one month mark that Tyler and I have been married & it seems like it flew by! It has been so great though, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Tyler surprised me when he came home from work with a dozen red roses that were SO beautiful! It felt so good to know he was thinking about me, and that he would go out of his way to tell me how happy he was to be married to me.

Tyler, I love you so much! Thank you again for the beautiful flowers, they mean so much to me! I am so happy that we are finally married, and that we can share forever with eachother! I can't wait to see what our future brings... always remember that I love you!!

What a horrible day!

Some of you may have heard, but I got in a car accident yesterday. Who knows if it was a blessing or a curse to have been driving the company vehicle, but here's the story.
I was coming back to Murray from Park City where I was picked up a set of plans. I was on I-80 W, where the construction starts so there was horrible traffic. It was stop and go for what seemed like forever.. anyway just as I started down the big hill by Parley's summit, traffic seemed to pick up a tiny bit to where we were going about 20 MPH... all the sudden the Lexus SUV in front of me slammed on their brakes to a complete stop & poor me tried so hard to avoid hitting them but ended up getting squished... :( The airbag went off and everything, & it wasn't a pleasant experience! It actually stunk really bad, & I felt like the car was gonna blow up any second... so I tried to get out but my door wouldn't open!! So I had to climb out the back.. luckily no one in the other car was hurt, and to tell the truth there was hardly any damage to the Lexus.. The car I was driving, a nissan versa, is really small and I think why my hood folded up was because of hitting a "bigger" car. So basically I just slid under them a bit! Anyways.. the crappiest part of it all was calling my Dad and telling him I'd just wrecked the company car... I hate disappointing people! So like I said this morning dad, I'm so sorry! As for me, don't worry I'll be fine... just a few minor bumps and bruises, and a little back ache to go with it.. nothing a little advil can't tackle.. :]

Grandma's House + Fiesta Fun + Tuacahn = One Great Weekend!

This weekend made me realize that everyone needs a good vacation every now and then. And it seems to me that the best way to make a vacation better is to take your family with you! Having everyone around makes everything seem like it is more exciting. Even though we spent most of the time lounging around grandma's house it is just good to be together. Fiesta Fun was a good break from sitting around all day. Who doesn't love go carts and bumper boats? But Tuacahn was deffinately the highlight of the trip! (except for maybe dinner at The Pizza Factory! ha ha) Seeing Les Miserables in the beautiful setting of Tuacahn was awesome! I was very impressed, and I never really thought theater was my thing! But I would deffinately go again! We should make this a family tradition for sure!!!! Thanks Mom and Dad Gelter for setting up a great weekend and getting us tickets! It was awesome. Hopefully we can organize several other family get aways in the future!

Our Little Buddy!!

We meant to post this sooner but we have added a new addition to our little family. His name is Toby & he is a Yorkshire Terrier aka Yorkie! He is barely over 3 months old & weighs just under 2 lbs. He loves to cuddle & insists on sleeping on my pillow touching me at all times during the night. hah. He loves to chew on anything like puppies do, so we made sure to get him lots of toys to play with. Roxi has finally warmed up to him & every now and then you can catch them sleeping next to each other... he hates to be left alone so he gets plenty of exercise running from one place to another with us. He hates wet grass & won't go potty on it *frustrating!* But it's kinda cute at the same time... We love him so much & are so thankful he is apart of our family!

Toby loves to give kisses & nibble on your ears! He also loves to bite the wind.. it's cute.

i heart Shawn Johnson!

Okay, so I'm gonna have to copy Meghann on this one, but seriously I was so excited for Shawn yesterday when she won the gold medal on beam! Her smile was so big, I couldn't help but smile myself! After getting beat out by Nastia on almost everything else, she deserved this one for sure! And what's not to love about that adorable cute face! Congrats Shawn!!

The Honeymoon: Vegas, and California fun in the sun!!!

Since we have started this blog thing, we thought we should probably give everyone a recap of the best week of our lives. As you all know it all started with the big day where we sealed the deal!!! (Finally) After we got the festivities out of the way and got settled down a little bit, in our new home, we set off for our awesome honeymoon!
The first stop of our little road trip was Las Vegas. After a long drive from home we were so excited to check into our hotel! We stayed at The Signature at the MGM Grand. It was an amazing hotel. It was so spacious and comfortable. Our Suite was more than we had expected. We wish we would have taken some pictures of the room but we didn't think about it. Oh well :) After we got settled in we hit the strip to check out Vegas. We ended up walking down the whole strip and got to the Bellagio. While we were there we watched a few of the fountain shows, which were awesome! Our most memorable part of the trip was on day two when we decided to go ride the roller coaster at the New York, New York hotel. It was the best roller coaster we had ever been on. On our way back to the room Rach decided to try her hand at the slots. After a few quarters and no reward we decided to hit the sack. (luckly neither of us has picked up a gambling habit.) We headed back to our room for the night and we were talking about how we were done with Vegas and ready for the California portion of our trip.

California was awesome. There is something to be said about a climate that is perfectly perfect in everyway. I could live in California. We started off at Disneyland where all of Rachael's childhood dreams came true! It was really fun! We were able to ride all the rides and.....Rach even met Minnie Mouse! :) We spent a couple days at Disneyland and California Adventure! We spent a full day at each park. Our favorite ride of the whole trip was the Tower of Terror at California Adventure! It was so fun we couldn't get enough of it! We also got to soak up the awesome California sun at the beach! The beach day started out a little cloudy but it cleared up nicely and became a beautiful day. That day we also went whale watching out on the ocean. We didn't see any whales but we saw a ton of dolphin and it was amazing to see them in their natural habitat. (one of the trip highlights) We had an amazing time but when it came down to it we were ready to come home! We missed our families and wanted to get officially settled into our new lives together!

Our Special Day!

July 25, 2008

We never thought the day would get here, but Tyler and I were finally married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

It was an incredibly beautiful day with tons of sunshine. Not to mention the hottest day so far this year!

We were so thankful that we were blessed to have so many of our family members and friends in the temple for our sealing. It was a very touching ceremony, and I am glad we could share it with so many that we love.

When we finally were ready to come out the temple doors to the awaiting crowd, they had to wait another 5 minutes while Morgan, my Mom, & Laura searched frantically for a couple bobby pins to get my flower in my hair to stay! ha. When we stepped out the doors it was a wonderful feeling! It was bittersweet with everyone cheering for us & our perfect decision to be married in the temple. We were so glad our day had come.

Taking pictures was so hot, we felt like we were melting! Not to mention my hot pink high heels are not the most comfortable shoe to be standing in the hot sun for hours. By the end of our shoot at the temple, I had blisters already! ...So I decided to switch shoes for the reception...

We had hardly any time to spare between the temple and the reception. We arrived at the Victorian just in time to get re-dressed & back outside for more pictures and before we were even done shooting, guests started to arrive! So we were summoned to the courtyard to see all of our guests. Time FLEW by! And before we knew it, we were being told it was time to cut the cake, which no sorry to disappoint those watching, we were told by the staff that we couldn't smash it in each other's faces.. Oh well... then it was time to throw my bouquet from the balcony. I couldn't believe Tyler's little brother Carson had managed to sneak his way over and caught it! So I insisted on throwing it again.. ha ha. This time it was a fight between my little sister Devanee & Tyler's Ex-GIRLFRIEND Elora. And I'm sure you guessed it... Elora got it. But not without getting a major grass stain on her white pants. Ha ha. I thought it was pretty funny actually! :)

We then realized that the garter was no where to be found! Someone had brought it but didn't know where it was put... we searched everywhere. Luckily the owner of the Victorian managed to find one laying around in the amour in the bride's room. We were so lucky!! And believe it or not Carson caught that too! What a punk.

The limo pulled up & it was time to exit... we were so sad to leave all of our family and friends behind, we were having such a great time! But we walked down the walkway while our friends and family let go of pink, lime, and brown balloons as we walked past them. It was so cute!

We didn't leave on our honeymoon right away, believe it or not we were starving when we got home so we ordered our favorite chinese food across the street, Little Orient. We sat on our bed while we ate Chinese food reminescing about how fast the day had come and gone.

We had such a fabulous day, it couldn't have been better! We were so happy & we owe it all to our parents, our family, and our friends! Thanks you guys for being there for us on such a special day in mine and Tyler's lives!

WE LOVE YOU!!

Believe it or not, I still had time to be my crazy silly self...
