Wedding Season!!

I feel like the biggest slacker on updating this blog. The past month or so have been SO insanely busy for me due to the abundance of weddings I am and will be photographing! I'm keeping this short & for those of you who are interested in what I've been up to check out my photo blog here. I've been so blessed to have the success that I have & continue to have already since starting my business. Thanks to all of you who have referred me to others & I look forward to the years ahead!

Thank Heaven For Guardian Angels!

Today I recieved a phone call from Rachael informing me that there was another car wreck in our family. It wasn't us this time, but it still served as a reminder of how thankful I am to have a heavenly father who is always looking out for us and is always there to help us in our time of need. I don't have exactly all of the details of what happened, but I got the majority of the story. Both of Rachael's brothers, their wives (Megan and Meghann), our neice Emerie, and our unborn nephew Porter were on their way to Kaysville for a cousin birthday party. It had been raining all day and as they were on the freeway a truck hydro-plained and clipped the car they were driving. From what I understand it sent them into a spin that ended up with their car crunched into the median. (sounds like a very familiar circumstance. Not fun!!) Apparently the impact of the crash was enough to, most likely, total Tim and Megan's car. Sorry guys! Even though we weren't involved in this wreck it brough back memories of both mine and Rachael's wrecks over the past year. In my wreck I am thankful for the guardian angel that I know was there with me, and I am glad that our family was being watched after this afternoon. We are so so so greatful that everyone involved in the accident was ok! It is on of life's small miracles that no one in the car was harmed, especially the little babies. We love all of you so very much and don't know what we would do without any of you!!

We want everyone to be safe out there! No more accidents :)

Honesty Tag!

Here are the rules:
a. List 8 Honest things about yourself- and make it interesting!
b. Pass it on to 7 fellow bloggers

#1

I secretly want to become the next American Idol! I used to be able to sing quite well when I was a kid, I would perform everywhere & I loved acting as well. I was always the girl who got all the solos & I was even 20 out of 300 children to be cast in the musical "Utah!" at Tuacahn. It was my first "real" job & I was only 12. I got paid several hundred dollars that summer to perform!

#2

I am a high end fashion diva at heart, yet comfy lounging dresser on a regular basis. I love to feel pretty & get all dressed up, but you won't find me doing it THAT often.. I usually only put make up on if I am going somewhere where I'll see people I know (besides my family..they have unfortunately seen me plenty of times without it)

#3

I have pierced two belly buttons in my lifetime.. and NO neither were mine. Tyler tried to watch me do one of them.. but those of you who know him well know that he would have passed out!

#4

I am terrified of driving at night where there are deer! I had a dream once that I hit a huge one and it's antlers pierced through my windshield. Ever since, it's always been a phobia of mine!

#5

I am shy.. until I get to know you! I agree with Megan, shy people get a bad wrap because people assume they are snobby. But in all reality it's the exact opposite! I am pretty quiet when I first meet people (other than my clients, for some reason I have no problem warming up to them) Once I get to know someone well, I am pretty darn talkative! :]

#6

My husband cooks far better than I do! He seems to really enjoy it.. me on the other hand, it doesn't excite me much. But I really think it's because I don't know how to cook that well.. like I don't know very many good recipes & I'm bad at planning meals, etc. Someday I'll be as good as my sister-in-laws & my Mom..

#7

I loved the Hannah Montana Movie!! haha. This one is silly & kinda random, but I decided to go with my little sisters and their friends last weekend to see the Hannah Montana movie & I MADE Tyler come. He tried to talk me out of it, and he almost did. He admitted to liking her new song "Climb" & I think he is glad he went because he ran into his old football coach from high school, Coach Bishop!

#8

This one I am sure a lot of you ladies can relate to.. well hopefully anyways!
I REALLY want to have kids.. like NOW, but I am TERRIFIED of the whole pregnancy/birth thing! I keep telling myself it would be worth whatever pain you had to go through.. but it still puts knots in my stomach! Watching my sister-in-laws have babies has helped me understand more things & realize that people survive it everyday.. my family frequently hears me quoting from the movie "Baby Mama" because it's one of my all time favorites!

Alright, it's your turn to be brutally honest -

I tag: Jacque, Meghann, Laura, Beki, Kiera, Shanna, & Morgan

"Wicked" FUN!

This isn't the best picture as you can tell, but we had to take it with my iPhone so it didn't have flash or anything to help compensate for the darkness.. ANYWAY.. this is Devanee and I at the Broadway musical WICKED! They are in Utah for about a month & we were fortunate enough to get tickets several months ago. We had been anticipating this day for a while & it turned out to be lots of fun! We were running late to get there (because of me I'll admit!) So I dropped Dev off right in front of Capitol theater to make sure she at least got in before it started! I drove around for several minutes trying to find parking & ended up parking at a place I do photo shoots at ALOT! I hardly missed a thing when I finally got seated & we enjoyed every minute of it! All of Devanee's friends were jealous because she got to go, & I was happy that I could be the one to take her!

The road of life is a dangerous place!

It is time for another little "Tyler Rant and Rave session." I just felt that I should just throw out a little reminder to friends, family, and anyone who reads this, to be safe out there on the highways of life! This is being brought on by two near wreck experiences in the past two days while driving along I-15. Neither of which were caused by me in any way, shape or form. On Sunday, Rachael and I were driving home from her Great Grandma Hazel's birthday party with her mom and dad. As I was driving I noticed a Silver truck coming up behind me who had been swerving in and out of his lane. It was pretty apparent to me that this guy was either a few deep, or falling asleep at the wheel. I decided that I would slow down to make sure that he was no where around me. As he flew past I saw a cowboy with a red atv in the back of his truck and made the decision that he was most likely drunk . :) As he drove by I told Randy that I didn't want to be anywhere near this crazy person because he was going to hurt someone. As he continued to swerve in an out of his lane, crossing traffic, we decided that we better report this guy before he hurt someone. Sure enough while Rach's dad was on the phone with 911, this drunk cowboy swerved across three lanes of traffic, then tried to correct his mistake by jerking on his wheel. This sent him spinning and all hell broke loose! Cars were swerving everywhere to avoid him! I slammed the breaks and watched as his truck finally came to a stop about five feet from our car. He then sped off and wasn't even concerned to see if he hurt anyone.
The second experience is less intense, but equally annoying! Today as I was driving to work I almost got run off the road by a mom in a mini van who decided that it was her time to change lanes, and it didn't matter that I was there. Obviously she couldn't have been distracted by the phone call that she was in the middle of. I blared on my horn and she swerved out of my lane after I had been forced on to the rumble strips. She then proceded to get behind me and flash her headlights at me. SERIOUSLY?!?!? Are you freaking kidding me? So I have prepared a statement to all people who shouldn't be on the road!

Dear bad drivers,
I would like to go on record saying that, "I don't appreciate my life, and the lives of my family and friends, being put in jeopardy everytime you decide to get behind the wheel of your car. I would really appreciate it if you took some time to actually focus in on the task at hand, DRIVING! Next time you are thinking about commandering a piece of equipment that weighs several thousand pounds I would appreciate it if you would take a moment to ask yourself if you capable of doing so. I don't want to see you on the road if you have been drinking all day with your friends, if you are on a phone call that you think is more important than everyone's live around you (it's not), if you forgot to shave, or anything else that would impare your judgment and focus."

If you aren't a bad driver then you probably agree with me in most, if not all, of what I have said. If you are a bad driver you are probably either offended or thinking you should change. I would ask that either way, Please change!

Now that I have spoken my piece I feel a little bit better. Ha ha So we will see you when the next Rant and Rave session comes around!

Softball in the St.George Sun!

The past weekend was spent in St.George with my family! But I was only missing one MAJOR part, my husband! It was sad not to have him there, and I missed him lots but these are the things I was thankful for this weekend:

1. a safe arrival in St.George Thursday night
2. seeing my grandma & grandpa harris, I ♥ them!
3. watching my little sister play softball for Davis High (they did great! only lost one)
4. going to in'n'out burger
5. trying to eat fish for the first time in a LONG time, & not loving it :] (the rolls were good though haha)
6. soaking in the St.George sun
7. getting to see my cousin play softball for Dixie High
8. having my puppies there with me (it also helped me sleep better since Tyler wasn't there)
9. no car troubles (we drove my murano)
10. and a safe arrival home!

It was really nice to take a little vaca to my old hometown where I spent my childhood years :]
But I really missed Tyler & was happy to come home & see him! Hopefully next time he can join us!

Rascal Flatts 2009!

Rascal Flatts was back in town this past week, and it was my 4th & Tyler's 3rd time seeing them in concert! I'll admit (for Tyler's sake) that I am the one who gets the tickets every year & somehow forces Tyler to go with me :] I know he enjoys going, but he's probably getting sick of going to see the same group in concert every year.. maybe soon we'll go to someone else but for now I'm totally satisfied with my buddies, Rascal Flatts!

*Sorry beforehand, these pictures suck because we had to take them with Tyler's phone. My iPhone died right before the concert, & we forgot to bring a camera...

This year, Jessica Simpson opened for them. I'll admit I wasn't too excited about seeing her & did not expect much more than a dumb blonde.. boy was I wrong! She was seriously awesome! I found out a few things about her that I didn't know before she told us..

1. She isn't a real blonde

2. She is really into religion (she was continuously talking about God, Prayer & Love throughout her whole time on stage)

3. She can sport the most outrageous shoes on the planet & manage not to fall on her face (look at pictures to see what I mean!)

4. The rumors were NOT true.. she is NOT fat! In fact she looked down right unbelievable! & she has P E R F E C T legs! (totally jealous...)

5. Despite forgetting words to her own song, she still managed to not look stupid & totally laughed at herself & admitted to forgetting words to at least one song (that she wrote remember) at every concert!

6. She is a HUGE Dolly Parton fan & Dolly asked her to sing one of her songs on her album.

After seeing her perform, I am planning on getting her new CD.. she wrote most of the songs & they were all good!
The boys were just as good this year as they have been in the past & are so entertaining on stage!
We got 4th row tickets on the floor this year & half way through the show we made our way to standing right against the stage, which was totally great! :]
Something that I found really cool was that (besides Rascal Flatts themselves) all the rest of the band were people from Salt Lake City! Apparently they have auditions in every city or something so that people get the chance to perform with them! How awesome is that?!

It was such a fun night & I'm so glad I got to spend it again with Tyler! He's a good sport for putting up with my craziness...
